An MOT test ensures your vehicle meets the legal safety and environmental standards required for UK roads. It covers key components including brakes, suspension, lights and emissions.

Regular maintenance before your MOT reduces the risk of failure and unexpected repair costs.

We provide thorough MOT testing and transparent advice, helping you stay road legal and safe.

MOT Testing for Cars, Vans, and Passenger Vehicles

Our authorised testers are qualified to carry out MOT tests for most UK vehicles, meaning our services may be adjusted to suit a variety of vehicle classes. We currently offer class 4 MOT testing.

Whether your vehicle is approaching its 12-month MOT mark or is due for its first test, contact Auto Service & Tuning Centre for expert service. Our team will be happy to assist you.

FAQs

MOT FAQs

An MOT test usually takes between 45 and 60 minutes, depending on the vehicle and testing schedule.

The maximum DVSA-set fee for a Class 4 MOT (standard cars) is currently Β£54.85. At Auto Service & Tuning Centre, a class 4 MOT costs Β£54.85.

If your vehicle fails, you’ll receive a VT30 certificate outlining the reasons. Repairs must be completed before the vehicle can be legally driven again (except to a pre-booked repair or test appointment in certain circumstances).

Services and MOTs are two very different services. Whilst an MOT is an annual inspection covering safety and roadworthiness, services account for wear and tear, ensuring all aspects of the vehicle outside of MOT requirements are accounted for. Services also replace parts such as air filters and fluids when required, keeping your vehicle in peak condition.

Whilst MOTs are undertaken once per year, services are generally performed at set time intervals, or after a vehicle has travelled a specific number of miles. Manufacturers will generally provide a service timetable that vehicle owners should aim to follow to maintain vehicle condition.

Auto Service & Tuning Centre currently offer three tiers of Bosch accredited servicing packages: Bronze, Silver, and Gold.
